Stainless Brass or PVD (Physical Vapour Deposit) refers to a specialist process developed by Carlisle Brass, a leading European manufacturer accredited with ISO 9001 and ISO14001, which offers 25 years guarantee against corrosion, tarnishing and abrasion.
How is it possible?
The process involves robotic polishing, high quality chrome plating and a gas and zirconium mixture applied in a vacuum at extreme temperature. The end product is highly polished to a flawless finish.
How is it verified?
Stainless Brass-ware meets DIN53167 – a testing process that includes over 2500 hours of salt spraying (normal brass-ware 96 hours) and 1000 cycles of brush acid abrasion. The total test is equivalent to 25 years performance under normal oxidation, wear and abrasion conditions – that is why Stainless Brass PVD has a unique 25 year guarantee. The PVD process means there is no lacquer or coating present that could break down. Stainless Brass PVD is therefore impervious to oxidation, tarnishing, abrasion and will also resist acid rain, CO² emissions and airborne chemical particles and even key and jewellery surface impact for 25 years. This specialist time-consuming process creates brass-ware that is more expensive in the short term, but offers long term performance benefits that certainly outweigh initial costs and are already appreciated by many private and commercial users including: Private Housing, Hotels, Public Houses, Restaurants, Offices, Refurbishments (or wherever maintenance-free conditions and beautiful brass-ware is required).
It also has a very low maintenance requirement so simply wipe with a soft cloth or add white spirit to remove stubborn marks.
